Imagine this. Music thats fun, slightly jazzy, funky, a tad rockish but so indie. That’s what you get with Funk Initiative. With a rhythm section combining Daniel Buttigieg’s rock-influenced grooves and Shaun Abdilla’s funk/disco basslines, and Daniel Cassar’s supernatural guitaring, Paul Torpiano’s smoking keyboard lines, Fabian Bonello’s sexy saxophone riffs and Gianluca Bezzina’s wooing voice…you’re never really sure what to expect.

Formed in March 2010, Funk Initiative have one aim – to make amazing music and share it with the world – going slightly crazy in the process.

FIRE is a  hard rock band that has been rocking Maltese head bangers since its inception in 1998.

In 2006 FIRE released their first album titled ” IGNITE”.This was very well received by the local media and the band found themselves on several fm radio playlists.The success of the album led to FIRE being chosen as support band for KROKUS when the Swiss rockers played some gigs in Malta

In 2007 the band played gigs in Manchester and London.

In July 2009 FIRE released their second CD titled ” Thrill me”.This marked a turning point for the band as it led to extensive coverage on all local media.The album introduced the band to a much wider audience and the album topped local radio charts.

‘Thrill Me’, like the band’s 2006 debut album ‘Ignite’, is a collection of hard rock and metal tracks in the Whitesnake and Judas Priest mould.

However, whilst retaining the strong melodic focus that characterized their debut, ‘Thrill Me’ sees Fire delivering a harder, edgier sound, with songs like ‘Come with Me’ and ‘Where are Going’ being considerably heavier and darker than any of the band’s previous offerings.

Other highlights of the album include ‘No More Pain’, which reveals the band’s softer, bluesier side, and of course the title track ‘Thrill Me’, a foot-stomping crowd pleaser that has already garnered extensive airplay on local radio stations.

In tandem with the album, the band has also produced a video for ” Thrill me”, the result of a successful collaboration with Talon House Pictures.

‘Thrill Me’ is available in various local stores, including Olympus, D’Amato, Exotique and Tip Top Electronics.

The success of ” Thrill me”  led to a deal with German based label Avenue of Allies for a worldwide release of the album.

For Strings Inn was founded in the hot summers of 2008 in Malta, when the 4 owners ran into each other after their long separate journeys up and down the hills of life. Feeling stronger and full of energy they decided to start re-doing what they did best.

The individuals forming this band need no introduction with the Maltese music lovers. Having formed part of legendary clans such as Totema, theIskandal and Strays now Herman, Kim, Zizza and Ryan welcome you in their inn in which the music played is nothing like what you’ve heard before …

Recently ‘For Strings Inn’ were at Temple studios in Mistra recording their Extended Play, ‘…with Strings attached’ from which they issued their first Single ‘Beyond Infinity’, which is already climbing the charts on XFM HomeGrown webpage.
